60s hair styles?

For my dance recital we're doing a 60s dance and my teacher asked if I could do something crazy with my hair since its so long rather than getting a wig. It was no problem, until I realized a beehive involved lots of backcombing and I had about a half hour to get my beehive out and hair into a messy bun for my next dance. So the question(s) I'm asking...

is there anyway to do a beehive, or achieve a similar look, without having to backcomb?

and if not, what 60s hairstyle would come out within 20-30 minutes and would work with hair that goes to my waist?

Thanks for the help.

you could to a poof pony like Priscilla Presley used to wear part from ear to ear across back crown area then part again ear to ear across top let front fall forward back comb rear sec then pull front back loosely smooth with fingers push forward secure with barrette pin any loose hairs with hairspray and bobby pins keep small strand in bang area a curl to the side.curl back ends of last 3 inches.voila!

60s hair styles?

long straight hiar parted in the middle with flowers in it. be a flower child or hippie look! with john lennor sun glasses

i would try for a pony tail

up toward the crown area. it will be very long so i would pony it in half again.

Oh honey, we used to use a beer rinse ( a beer poured into a bowl overnight so the alcohol evaporates) and roll them on soup cans to get them up real high. But then you smell like a drunk. And your hair is dirty feeling and stiff.

We didn't all wear beehives either. Especially the girls with long hair. Sometimes we wore a french twist that we continued up to the center top of the head. If you have hair that long you should be able to do this with practice. Wish I could show you how to do it.

You might try making a little fez type hat with a hole in the center, put your ponytail up through it and then wrap your hair around it a few times and pin in place being careful to keep it pinned securely and making sure the hat does not show. Taking it down for the Ballet bun would be fast and simple. Wish I could see your recital, good luck.
